Aim HIGH but Set the Bar LOW

One reason why you’re not getting started with that bright new idea of yours:

You’re setting the bar too high.

Any time I made the decision to start something new, I would overwhelm myself by thinking too much about the 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲.

I would catch myself thinking about what could go wrong, how much time it would take, and whether all the effort would be worth it.

That was until I learned the power of 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹.

This means taking baby steps. Learning as you go. Living in the moment.

Something I didn’t expect was that I didn’t need to do a lot to become focused and motivated in whatever I chose to do.

The underlying lesson: aim 𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛, but set the bar 𝗟𝗢𝗪.

How could this work for you?

👉 If reading for 60 minutes seems too long, aim to read just 3 pages.

👉 If a 45-minute burst of exercise seems too intense, try it for just 5 minutes.

👉 If cooking meals seems too much of an ask, try it just once, using an easy recipe.

Are you getting the idea?

By setting the bar low for success, you have compressed the time it takes for you to feel good about yourself.

And when you feel good, you naturally want to do MORE of it.

As Zig Ziglar once said: "𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵."

How could you start small with that bright idea of yours? 💡
