One thing that frustrates me is sitting on an idea and not having the courage to take the action to bring that idea to life.

For THREE years I had sat on the idea of starting a YouTube channel, whilst giving myself every excuse in the book for not taking a leap of faith.

That was not a good situation to be in. Not to mention, at the time I had already:

- Written down multiple pages of ideas for video content

- Recorded myself speaking over and over again in the camera

- Edited and saved my first recording once I was happy with it

... only to then resist myself from taking the next crucial step in actually sharing the video with the world.

But why did I stop there?

I was too afraid about what others thought of my content. The number of ways I could improve the video kept piling up. So why bother sharing it anyway?

Fast forward three years, and I realised that I should look at this situation from a whole different set of lenses.

Rather than focusing on the outcome, why not treat this idea as an EXPERIMENT? Take the pressure off myself, enjoy the process and see where it takes me. Enjoy a bit of mystery.

So, here I am!

The YouTube channel is called 'The Dark Horse Project'. The first video explains how I got the name and gives a flavour of my journey so far with personal development - a journey which eventually introduced me to the world of coaching and helping people to unlock their full potential.

The next time you find yourself dabbling with a bright idea, choose to EXPERIMENT with it, rather than playing the ‘What if?’ game.

This way you will:

- Focus less on the outcome and put greater energy in enjoying the process

- Decide for yourself, over time, if it is something you truly enjoy doing

- Bring a more authentic version of yourself to the table

- Strive for progress, not perfection

After all, it's better to try and fail than not having tried at all, right?

Take it from me – it’s been a matter of years for this message to strike me square between the eyes!
